With hearts full of gratitude, SALAM Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the blessed launch of the SALAM Center for Higher Islamic Learning, a long-cherished vision that has now come to fruition.
This milestone is not ours alone; it is yours. Through your generosity, volunteerism, and steadfast support, you have helped lay the foundation for what is now becoming a beacon of learning and growth for our community. What began as a dream more than 15 years ago with the inauguration of our “Masjid and Center for Higher Islamic Learning” building is now blossoming into a new chapter of SALAM education. The Center is now fully up and running with the official opening of its first program, Hikmah Seminary, during the week of September 8, 2025.
Hikmah Seminary will offer a range of English language transformative courses taught by our own local scholars:
- Dr. Khalid Sayedi will teach Foundations of Islamic Sciences.
- Dr. Imam Sherif Ahmed will teach The Art of Dhikr and Duʿa.
- Dr. Alyaa Elramady will teach Introduction to Aqeedah.
- Ustadh Abass Darab, who will be joining SALAM as its full-time Lead Imam, will teach Seerah: The Life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In addition, four Arabic language courses, the first in what may be the only Arabic-language seminary program on the West Coast, will be led by Shaykh Saad ElHelaly:
- علوم القرآن | Quranic Sciences
- مصطلح الحديث | Introduction to Hadith Sciences
- أصول الفقه | Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence
- التربية الإيمانية | Faith-Based Education
